The following books and assignments are due on the first Friday of the school year. They may be signed out from room 113 during the spring of your freshman year; you may also choose to borrow copies from a public library, purchase your own, or find online texts.
We will have an assessment on them the day they are due, so be sure to bring your copies. None will be available to borrow in the class on that day.
Books:
1. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. This is a dystopic novel that explains an extreme form of society in a way that implies criticism of it.
2. The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien.
